Exploring Nevada County Now In Electronic Form

For people who enjoy Nevada County history, they’ll be happy to hear that the popular guide “Exploring Nevada County” is going to feature a lot more information, with more frequent updates. The current chair of the Historical Landmarks Commission, Bernard Zimmerman, says it’s hard to keep the longtime paperback guide current, since they keep finding new landmarks. The e-edition will guide you to 200 landmarks scattered throughout the county. You can use its 14 maps and 200 photos to tour these sites on your desktop monitor, or you can load it onto a mobile device. Zimmerman says he hopes it’ll promote local history more effectively…

Zimmerman says you can use the e-guide to help plan family outings or picnics. Each landmark has a link to a Google map, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding it. It also features detailed maps of downtown Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Truckee.
