For taxpayers who asked for more time to file their federal tax return this year, the extra time is about to expire. IRS Media Specialist, David Tucker says Wednesday is the deadline.
By requesting the original extension, more time was given to the tax payer to properly prepare the forms as well as look for exemptions and refunds.
The deadline is midnight October 15th to have a return postmarked, but Tucker reminds people that the post office does not remain open until midnight as they do in some places on April 15th. Using the internet is the best option to guarantee timely posting.
Tucker says the IRS website, IRS.gov, is the place to look if you have any questions regarding filing taxes.
Nearly 13 million Americans requested the six month extension to file their 2013 Federal Income Tax returns.
