Fair Family of the Year

The Nevada County Fair seems just as special to someone who’s been to fairs back East and around California.

Liz Smith, who with her husband Chip and their four children have been named Family of the Year by the fair board of directors, moved to Nevada County from Vermont about 15 years ago.

Chip and Liz Smith are 4-H leaders in goat projects, which their children have been involved in. The Smith family will be honored at opening ceremonies of the Nevada County Fair, which begins August 8th and runs through the 12th.
