Fake Texting Ties Up Law Enforcement

A text message received by a local resident had law enforcement concerned for a Southern California woman. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a local resident received a text message about a woman hiding from her boyfriend, Saturday night. The Sheriff says a  second person allegedly chimed in texting he had the woman tied up.

The Sheriff says through the intensive investigation Deputies were able to locate the victim, and found she was not tied up or in any danger. Sheriff Royal says these type of phony messages require quick action to make sure a person is not being injured and take officers from other duties.
