False ID, Stolen Mail in Two Nevada City Arrests

Two Nevada City men are in jail–one for allegedly stealing mail, and the other for giving a false identity to a police officer. Officers went to what they suspected was an abandoned residence in the 300 block of Old Downieville Highway yesterday and found 33 year-old Jeremiah Boman at the residence with three friends. Nevada City P-D Officer Scott Goin says there were drugs and paraphernalia at the residence, and Boman had stolen mail in his possession. The other was a personal check from one party to another in the amount of a thousand dollars. One of Boman’s friends, 31 year-old Jesse Poff, lied about his name to officers, and then did it again later, using another name…

The two both also face drug charges and violation of their probation. Goin says local law enforcement has had several encounters with both individuals in the past.
