Farallon Quintet Comes to In Concert Sierra

By Ashlyn Rhodes

This Sunday the Farallon Quintet will perform at the Seventh-day Adventist Church as part of In Concert Sierra’s performance series.  The quintet is made up of two violins, a cello, a viola, and a clarinet.  In Concert Sierra Artistic Director Ken Harden says this isn’t the first time members of the Farallon Quintet have performed in the area.

Before the show, there will be a pre-concert forum hosted by Dr. Aileen James.

Harden says the quintet will stick around for an extra day to give a special performance to most of Nevada County’s third graders Monday morning.  They will perform some of their pieces from the day before, as well as a couple songs young students might connect with.  They’ll also talk about their instruments and ask and answer questions.

The forum starts Sunday afternoon just after 1 and the concert begins at 2.  The performance takes place at Seventh-day Adventist Church on Osborne Hill Road in Grass Valley.  For tickets or information, go online or call 273-3990.
