Fatal Accident on Highway 70 Claims Two Lives

A head-on collision on Highway 70 north of Marysville claimed two lives and sent two more to the hospital Thursday afternoon. CHP Public Information Officer Jodie Beck says just before 4:00 PM a southbound 1971 Dodge pickup driven by a 50 year old male crossed over into the path of a northbound 2012 Chevy Silverado driven by a 53 year old female.

The two passengers in the Chevy Silverado were a 58 year old male and a 21 year old female. No names are being released at this time. The accident is still under investigation. Highway 70 was closed in both directions for two and a half hours. The road was opened at 6:30 PM.
