A head on collision on Highway 20 near  Rough and Ready Hwy and Cattle Drive occurred around 8:20pm. last evening resulted in one fatality and  closed  Highway 20  for about 2 hours.     Three vehicles were involved.  CHP Officer Greg Tassone says  a Chevy Chevelle and a Dodge 250 Pickup were heading westbound   on Highway 20 approaching Cattle Drive and a Jeep Wrangler was coming eastbound on Highway 20.

The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, a male out of Nevada City was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The other two drivers were not seriously injured but a passenger in the Dodge pickup was transported to Rideout Hospital with moderate injuries.
CHP Officers are in the area this morning with a partial lane closure gathering evidence for their report.  Traffic control is in effect on Highway 20 between rough and ready Highway and Cattle Drive until about 11 o’clock this morning.
