Fatal and Moderate Injuries in Weekend Crashes

A Lake Wildwood Man was killed in a solo vehicle accident.  CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse says  Friday morning at 9:10 a.m.   69 year old David Ostrander was driving his 2014 Honda CRV southbound on Lake Wildwood drive, north of Lake Forest Drive when he made an unsafe move.

Mr. Ostrander became trapped in the driver’s seat of the Honda and was ultimately extricated by Penn Valley Fire personnel.

Mr Ostrander was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the hospital. The collision is still under investigation.

In another accident Friday:

Grass Valley Fire responded to a vehicle accident Friday morning where they had to extract the driver from the car. CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse tells KNCO 68 year old Douglas Newnan was driving a 1998 GMC Envoy when he left the road on Dog Bar at Wheeler Acres.

A couple of witnesses saw the accident and gave the CHP a few details but it is still under investigation. The patient was flown by Reach 7 to Sutter Roseville with moderate injuries.
