Fatal Crash on HWY 49 Friday

A crash on HWY 49 at Motherloade Road between a semi truck and a black Handai SUV turned fatal this afternoon. Our first reports shortly after noon today had the hwy closed in both directions due to the accident. The accident centered around the hondai traveling southbound on HWY 49 and the big rig is believed to have been pulling off of Motherload onto HWY 49 when the two collided. Life Flight helicopters were called to the scene. The driver of the semi truck did not suffer any reported injuries. Shortly after 12:30 the driver of the Handai SUV was declared dead by the coroner. The highway was reopened to traffic around  1pm.
