The city of Grass Valley has gotten some good news regarding that sinkhole off of Freeman Lane. The federal government is going to pay most of the bill, with very little cost to the city. Public Works Director and Interim City Manager Tim Kiser has an update…
Kiser says there’s motivation to get the work done quickly-hopefully almost all of it in the next few weeks…
If work goes beyond the middle of July, the federal government will still pay about 88 percent of the cost after that date. Kiser says the work probably will stretch into that late July period, but not beyond that-taking advantage of as much of the federal money as possible. It was just over five months ago, January 11, when the ground opened up in the Liberty Motors parking lot.
