Fight Over Girl Ends with Arrest

It may have been Hot Summer Nights on the streets of Nevada City Wednesday- but it was even hotter in a local hotel. Nevada City Police Officer Shane Frannsen says he was called to the National Hotel just a few minutes before Hot Summer Nights got started.

Frannsen says it appears that the victim and the suspect, Jeff Bodde, had gotten into a fight over a girl. Bodde had inflicted severe injuries to the victims face.*

Jeff Bodde, 29 of Nevada City, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
The fight was not related to Hot Summer Nights activities and alcohol was not a contributing factor.
