The Nevada City Film Festival is still several months away, but the deadline to submit a film is quickly approaching.

Organizer Jesse Locks says those fees can run up to 50 dollars. The film submission Regular Deadline is May 1, 2013. Extended Late Deadline is June 14, 2013. so Save and submit early. All filmmakers will be notified by July 15, 2013.
The festival will be a little later this year. It will run from September 5th through 8th, after being held in August the last several years. Locks says there’s a big fundraiser for the festival coming up this weekend. They’ll be screening the 1996 Stanley Tucci film “Big Night”.

They will also serve a five-course feast featured in the movie, plus music from the era. The screening will be Sunday at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City, but you are asked to R-S-V-P by tomorrow (Tuesday). Tickets are 65 dollars, with portions of the proceeds going to the film festival and to Miners Foundry. You can find more information at www.minersfoundry.org.
