Film for Funds for Bear Yuba Land Trust

An opportunity to view a film about the early days of the environmental movement in California is being featured as a fundraiser for the The Bear Yuba Land Trust. According to Land Trust Executive Director, Marty Coleman-Hunt, the film “Rebels With A Cause” narrated by Frances McDormand features the saving an area of Northern California.

The original movement saved the National Seashore, but more needed to be doneĀ  to protect the adjacent land as well.

MALT is the first land trust in Northern California. The agricultural land is primarily used for dairy purposes and remains productive today.

Following the film, BYLT’s Executive Director Marty Coleman-Hunt, John Muir (actor, Don Baldwin) and Greg Archbald co-founder of Trust for Public Land will lead a short discussion of the environmental movement, from its origins to its current state.

“Rebels With A Cause” will be screened 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Sunday, April 13 at the Nevada Theatre, Nevada City
