Fire Destroys Home On Benedict Lane

Fire has destroyed a small home, or cabin, in the Nevada City area. Grass Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Smith says it happened around 10:20 last night on Benedict Lane near Red Dog Road…

The cause is not known at this time. But Smith says a neighbor who reported the blaze also mentioned hearing an explosion…

The home was around 900 square feet. There were no injuries to firefighters and they didn’t leave the scene until about 3 hours later.
