On the last day that he was allowed to do so, Governor Brown has signed several bills, including a couple sponsored by Nevada County’s Assemblyman Brian Dahle. Dahle’s Assembly Bill 20-48 was signed yesterday (Tuesday), which would reduce the penalty you would face if you don’t pay the state fire fee on time…
The bill also has another provision…
Dahle has not been a supporter of the 150 dollar-a-year fee to begin with, and says there are efforts underway in getting that law off the books….
People who live in what California calls State Responsibility Areas are subject to the fee, and that includes many Nevada County residents. Governor Brown also signed Dahle’s Assembly Bill 2363, which directs the California Public Utilities Commission to “calculate the integration cost of different sources of “green” power to ensure ratepayers get the best deal for their renewable electricity dollar.”
