Fire Fight In Grass Valley

Firefighters are still mopping up the Auburn, South Auburn Street Fire in Grass Valley.  The fire, which broke out  around 1:30pm on Saturday, was held to 30 acres in size by by the 225 fire fighting personnel that aggressively fought the fire.   Residents on Osborne Hill Road were evacuated but have all returned home.

An arson arrest was made by Grass Valley police on the Auburn Fire in Grass Valley.  52-year old David Holm, a transient of the area for many years, was seen walking away from the area with burn injuries on his lower legs.  Holm was placed under arrest and was transferred to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.

A separate fire near Highway 20 and Rex Reservoir broke out about 4pm Saturday with a couple of outbuilding being consumed.  Firefighters quickly contained the blaze holding it to a couple of acres.
