Fire Fighters Gain Containment

Despite Red Flag warnings for the weekend, fire fighters continue to get the upper hand on containing the Wind Complex of fires.  The McCourtney Fire, which consumed 76 acres and 8 structures, is 100 percent contained.  The Lobo Fire is 95 percent contained after 22 structures and 821 acres burned.  Even the Cascade and LaPorte Fires in Yuba and Butte counties, all close to full containment.  But, lots of work remain for firefighters who will continue to battle the fire within the perimeter of all the blazes.  Also, numerous utility vehicles are within the fire areas, restoring power and infrastructure.  Please drive cautiously in the fire affected areas.  Also, fire crews have been responding to other small fires, and Nevada County Consolidated wants to remind residents that the burn ban in still in effect for Western Nevada County.  No Burning Please!
