The future of Nevada City’s fire station is the subject of a special meeting of the Nevada City Council this afternoon. The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District is scheduled to full their firefighters out of Station 54 in April, and the subject of the meeting is what to do if or when that happens. City Manager Mark Prestwich describes the special meeting as a workshop, and says his staff has come up with several alternatives for the council to consider…
Prestwich says even if the council decides on one of the alternatives, that’s just a first step in the process…
Prestwich says he has invited personnel from partner fire agencies, the Nevada City fire chief will be there, and there will be a representative from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. The meeting is at 1pm at City Hall.
