Fire Prevention Bills Arrive in Mailboxes

Most Nevada county residents by now have received  a $150 bill from the state for fire prevention efforts. The fee was passed by the legislature and signed by the governor last year to raise $84 million for fire prevention in the rural state responsibility areas.  Homeowners who live in the state responsibility area will get a $35 credit if they already pay a tax to a local fire district.
local resident Barbara A Brown says the tax isn’t fair.
