It’s a new event in Nevada County to learn a little bit about how local first responders work in the case of an emergency. It’s called Community Preparedness Day, and it will be at Grass Valley Fire Station 2 all day tomorrow. Along with the fire department, Grass Valley Police will be there, along with the County Office of Emergency Services, the Veterinary Disaster Response Team, Amateur Radio Emergency Services, and others. Buttron says after a classroom type presentation, it gets interactive…
So wear some sturdy comfortable shoes. They are limiting particiaption to about 50 people, but as of this morning there is plenty of room. You are encouraged to sign up by calling Sharon at 265-1229, but you can just show up tomrorow and there should be room for you. It’s from 8am to 5pm at Fire Station 2–213 Sierra College Drive. It’s free, and lunch will be provided.
