Fires Create Their Own Weather

Temperatures in Northern California are moving away from the tripple digits of a week ago but the relative low humidity is still causing problems for firefighters.  National Weather Service Meteorologist Kathy Hoxsie says in many parts of interior California, humidity is in the teens and approaching single digits.

Hoxsie says fires, when they are big enough and hot enough, can create their own  weather.

Right now the National Weather Service has forecasters on 6 fires burning in California.
