Fireworks Ban and Restrictions in Nevada County

With tomorrow being the 4th of July holiday, fire agencies in Nevada County would like to remind area residents and visitors of fireworks restrictions.

Grass Valley Fire Department spokesperson Jeff Wagner says no person is permitted to sell, use or possess fireworks of any type in these areas.

Wagner says, personal use of the Safe and Sane fireworks will be allowed in the City of Nevada City on the fourth of July with the exception of two areas.

County residents are encouraged to enjoy safe community events for the fourth of July.

Fire prevention and law enforcement personnel will be responding to complaints of fireworks use and patrolling to enforce the ban and area restrictions. Any person found using or possessing fireworks in violation of these restrictions may be cited and the fireworks will be confiscated.
