People are discouraged from going to shopping center parking lots to set off fireworks which used to be a custom in Grass Valley. Now, Fire Marshall Wagner says that activity will result in a citation.
It’s the same for the unincorporated areas of the county. Nevada County Consolidated Fire Marshall Terry McMahan say for the first time ever there has been a meeting by all enforcement agencies in the area to prepare for fireworks patrols.

As for Nevada City, it is legal to use Safe and Sane Fireworks but McMahan says you may have to break the law to get them to the city.
