First Announced Challenger For Weston’s Seat

A small business owner and rancher is the first announced candidate for a soon-to-be-vacated Nevada County supervisor seat. Sue Hoek wants to replace Hank Weston in District 4, who has announced his retirement. Hoek lives and works on her family ranch in Penn Valley, which as been in operation since the 1870’s….

This is the first time Hoek has run for an elected office. But she’s been active in a lot of boards and organizations. She’s served on, and been president of, the Nevada County Farm Bureau. She’s also been on the County Agricultural Advisory Commission and the County Resource Conservation Commission and she’s a current member of the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce. The supervisors’ elections are in June of next year.
