The storm door has finally re-opened, with the first precipitation for December on the way for the weekend in Nevada County. KNCO Meteorologist Dan Holiday says it’s coming in two waves of light to moderate rain. The first one, expected to arrive late Friday night and end around mid-day Saturday, will be the lighter of the two, with more precipitation coming with the second system, currently scheduled to move through late Saturday night and on Sunday…
But there will be no snow in the Grass Valley-Nevada City area. Holiday says some light rain is also forecast for Tuesday night into Wednesday. The last measurable precipitation in Nevada County was on November 18th and December is traditionally the second-wettest month of the year…
For the season to date, which began October first, precipitation is only about one-third of normal for the Grass Valley area.
