A family fishing excursion at an eastern Nevada County reservoir turned into a 24-hour ordeal over the past weekend. Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Andrew Trygg says they received a frantic phone call from the wife of one member of the group, at around 11pm Sunday. The group was seen leaving for Jackson Meadows Reservoir at around 5am…
Trygg says the department’s volunteer Search and Rescue Team, as well as a Washoe County helicopter with infrared capability, were then deployed. He says the helicopter pilot spotted the group’s pickup and trailer, which led him to a spot where they’d gotten stuck in a Utility Terrain Vehicle…
Trygg says everyone was still in good health. He says the terrain had also prevented the group from getting cell phone reception.
