If you are interested in giving to the Food Bank of Nevada County, their executive director says they are more interested in monetary donations than food this time of year. Toni Thompson says their bank balance has gotten fairly low, and they also can buy in bulk, which saves money…
Thompson says they are also running a program which provides lunches for kids during the summer while they are out of school…
Thompson says in that program, they can’t buy in bulk because they have to feed each child individually, with a small container of milk, for example, instead of being able to buy a gallon of milk. Thompson says earlier this month, the Food Bank only had about 250 dollars in their account.
