The Food Bank of Nevada County may have solved some of their financial difficulties, at least for awhile. It’s been announced that they will be running one of the booths on Treat Street this year, at the Nevada County Fair…
That booth had been run by the N-C-A-D-D for the developmentally disabled. Thompson’s son John is going to run it, and says there will be a slight difference…
Toni Thompson says the money generated from the booth should be able to pay for the Summer Feeding Program next year, something they have been struggling to fund this summer…
Just a few weeks ago, Thompson says they only had 250 dollars in their bank account. Since then, they have gotten some funding from the United Way, and now will have the fair booth. The Food Bank of Nevada County feeds over 400 families per month.
