Another major source of Interfaith’s food supply is the annual Postal Workers Food Drive that this year will be happening on a Saturday, September 24th., where you can leave non-perishable items near your mailbox. And with supplies looking strong, Van Son says Interfaith Food Ministries has also taken a closer look at the nutritional quality of the items they have. They’ve recently created a bag of more nutritional groceries for the homeless population that also need no cooking or refrigeration. She says many of their clients say that Interfaith provides 50 to 80% of their food needs.
