For or Against?- NU Debate Team Speaks Up

Nevada Union Debate Team is making a mark in competitive debate circles. Traditionally, the “Sport of Speaking” has been dominated by private schools, but Nevada Union has recently changed that landscape. Nevada County Bar Association President, Michael Cobden- a Nevada Union graduate and former debater- talks about the change.

The Nevada County Bar Association is partnering with the debate team booster club to present Miner’s Disputes to highlight talented students as they debate some interesting topics on Monday.

Interaction with the audience is encouraged and winners will be chosen by audience voting.
The event is a fundraiser to help raise money for the NU Debate team which lost its funding due to budget cuts.
Miner’s Disputes is Monday evening at the Stonehouse Restaraunt in Nevada City starting at 5:30 PM.
