Forest health is a growing challenge in California, with the recent weather extremes. And with a rather mild response this year, so far, the deadline for proposed improvement projects has been extended to June 30th. That also allows time for the new Trump Administration’s Agriculture Secretary to approve membership for the Resource Advisory Committee for Nevada and Placer Counties, that reviews applications. Project proposals may be submitted by community-based organizations, tribes, individuals, or government agencies that are eligible for funding consideration. Woodbridge says about $240,000 is available this year, which is a fairly typical amount. The committee must make decisions by no later than the September 30th deadline.
