Former City Councilman Inks Lamphier Letter

The anonymous person who left a letter on the board of Supervisors Counter last year suggesting some improper use of Terry Lamphier’s county computer has come forward. In a letter to the Union, former Grass Valley City Councilmember Steve Enos says he was the one who dropped off that letter suggesting Lamphier’s computer contained several immages of minors engaging in sexual activity, but Enos tells the paper the letter was only intended for Lamphier to see. The letter was read by an office staff person who routinely opens mail for supervisors and that led to a criminal investigation of Lamphier’s county computer and a search warrant of his house. The investigation results were forwarded to the Nevada county District attorney and charges were filed. Lamphier faces three misdemeanor charges. of possession of digital obscene images of a person under 18. The timing of the letter aroused some suspicion as it was just one week before the November election where Lamphier was a leading contender in the election for a seat on the Grass Valley City Council. Enos says he came forward because he is outraged at the continuous allegations that the letter was politically motivated.
