A former Nevada City resident has been arrested in Tennessee, where he now lives, for the sexual abuse of his former step-daughter. Assistant Nevada County District Attorney Chris Walsh says the victim, who is now 27 years old, disclosed to law enforcement recently that Brian Hoobler, now 54 years old, started abusing her while she was living in the county, when she was young…

Walsh says the abuse, which went on for an undisclosed number of years, stopped when the victim’s mother separated from Hoobler. He says Hoobler is currently charged with two felony counts, which carry up to 16 years in prison.
