A world-class pianist is coming back to Nevada City, where she spent part of her youth perfecting her talent…
Listen to Pauline Yang (Piano)
That’s the music of Pauline Yang, who studied at the Gold Country Piano Institute when she was 13. Yang has performed all over the world. She played Carnegie Hall at the age of 11, and enrolled in Julliard’s Pre-College Division before coming out to Nevada City. She is from New Jersey, but attended college at USC. She’ll be performing at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center tomorrow night…
Yang has been selected as the first performer in the Piano Institute’s alumni series, which not only features a concert, but she’ll also be teaching a Master Class on Sunday to intermediate and advanced level pianists. Yang has been playing piano since the age of five, but unlike other prodigies like her, she kept at it as a teenager. Yang credits her parents for not pushing her, and letting her and her brother participate in many different activities…
Tickets to the concert are 30 dollars. The show starts at 8pm.
