There 1 hundred and eleven children waiting for foster homes in Nevada county according to Gail Johnson Vaughan the Executive Director of Mission Focus Solutions that is looking for homes for these children, that number is up dramatically over a few years ago.

In many cases these kids are put in a foster care facility outside the area, away from their school, their friends and family, making the tragedy of losing their parents all the more difficult to cope with. A 100-day effort is underway to encourage more people in Nevada and Placer counties to become foster parents.
