Four arrests in Grass Valley on vehicle theft and drug charges. Around midnight Sunday night, Police Sergeant Clint Bates says an officer stopped a vehicle in front of CVS Pharmacy, on Sutton Way. A check of the plate revealed it was stolen from the Sacramento area. As the officer walked up to the vehicle, Bates says the driver got out and ran away…
Bates says 33-year-old Andrew Callison, from the Sacramento area, had no injuries and was then arrested on a number of charges that included vehicle theft, drug possession, parole violation, and resisting arrest. And then Callison was soon after found unconscious in his jail cell…
It turned out to be heroin that, Bates says, was swallowed by Callison while he was running away from officers. Callison is last reported to be in stable condition. Bates says three female passengers in the vehicle were also arrested. 21-year-old Mariah Gage, of Carmichael, and 24-year-old Savana Howard, of Rio Linda, both face one felony count, each, of vehicle theft. 27-year-old Heather Cusato, of Marysville, faces one felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
