Fourth Suspect In Home Invasion Incident In Custody

A fourth suspect involved with a brutal home invasion in Grass Valley on December 6th is now in custody. Grass Valley Police working with Sacramento County Sheriff deputies located 18 year old Billy Mecredy in a residence on Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael, CA. Sgt Steve Johnson says a warrant for Mecredy was issued on April 24th. Early this (Thursday) morning law enforcement caught a break.

Johnson says he was taken into custody in Sacramento and then transported back to Nevada County and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional facility.

Mecredy is being held on 300,000 dollar bail. The December 6th incident involved multiple suspects knocking on the door of a Grass valley man in his 70’s pretending to need to use his phone. The suspects pushed into the house, brutally struck the man on the side of his head with an object and tied him up as they ransacked the house stealing several items and eventually driving away in his truck. The victim has gone through several major surgeries as a result being struck on the side of his head.
