The Francis fire , located near the Colgate Powerhouse and Lake Francis Road in Dobbins. got started yesterday late afternoon.  The fire started downstream from the Colgate Powerhouse on the north side of the north fork of the Yuba River. Steep terrain and difficult access has hampered efforts to contain the fire. CAL FIRE personnel are continuing to build and reinforce containment lines today. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There area Advisory evacuations for five homes along Lake Francis Road  The southern end of Lake Francis Road is closed to assist firefighters activity. This morning the fire is at 75 acres and 50 percent containment with 130 firefighters assigned to the fire.
