Free Green Waste Program Proceeding

While most events are being canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak and the shelter-in-place mandate, the Fire Safe Council and Nevada County Office of Emergency Services is moving forward with their free green waste disposal program. The free disposals will run Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays for at least three weeks, but they hope to double that…

An estimated 400-tons of green waste was collected during the program’s inaugural run in May of last year. Jones says they hope to announce an expansion to six weeks in the next week or so.
