It’s a holiday weekend, and the Grass Valley Downtown Association will be spreading some holiday cheer with an ice-skating rink at the Holiday Inn Express Gold Miner’s Inn parking lot. From today through Monday, the rink will be open to the public. Julia Jordan of the Downtown Association says there will be some new additions to this year’s event.*
Adding interest won’t be much of a problem this year, as the ice rink was quite the attraction last year.*
The rink will be open from 10:30am-6pm today through Sunday, and will close at 4pm Monday. It’s free, except for a three-dollar skate rental fee. The Downtown Association thanks the community for its support of this year’s winter wonderland.*
The surface is not real ice, which will work well for the warm temperatures expected. This is the second year of free skating over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.
