The Internal Revenue Service is providing free e-filing software. IRS spokesperson, David Tucker, says if you make less than 60,000 dollars in 2014 you are eligible.
The IRS is offering links to 14 software providers to assist with filing taxes.
Customers are not downloading the software, but accessing it online.
Tucker says the Free File software can help taxpayers with tax preparation, including the health care law that will affect almost everyone.
If you do have coverage through Covered California, the State should be sending you a Form 1095A to submit with your tax return.
Those of you wanting to get your refund quickly, Tucker says to not only file electronically, but to sign up for direct deposit.
Free File will be available through October 2015. Taxpayers who cannot meet the April 15 tax deadline can also use Free File to file a six-month extension.
