FREED Would Like Disability Redefined

Members of the Freed Independent Living Center in Grass Valley would like to see a change to the Social Security Act definition of “disabilty” as used to award SSI and Disability Insurance benefits. Freed Disability Community Advocate Justin Harford says it hasn’t been changed since the 1950’s*

Freed Center for Independent Living recently submitted a resolution to the National Council on Independent Living to advocate for employment incentives for people with disabilities by changing the Social Security Act definition of “disability”.
