Friends Of River File Another Fish Lawsuit

Another federal lawsuit regarding the impacts of two dams on the Yuba River fish population has been filed by the group Friends of the River. An earlier lawsuit, also aimed mainly at the Army Corps of Engineers, had resulted in a revised biological opinion, in 2012, that outlined procedures for improving access. But Wesselman says the Corps recently decided not to implement it….

Wesselman says salmon populations have plummeted 99-percent in the Yuba River. The National Marine Fisheries Service and the Bureau of Land Management are also among federal agencies named in the latest litigation.
