Friendship Club Receives Community Initiative Award of $15K

Support for a group that supports school age girls in Nevada County.
Using Community Initiative Fund (CIF) dollars, Nevada County and the Adult and Family Services Commission (AFSC), has awarded a 15,000 grant to The Friendship Club. Club Director Jennifer Singer says the funds will go towards health education for girls in the Friendship Club.

Singer says there are three main components to the We Choose Health Project. Two components are Nutrition and Fitness.

And new this year is Gardening.

Singer thanks the Sorptomist of the Sierra Foothills and Soroptomist of Nevada City for contributing to the garden project.
The Friendship Club is a community-based non-profit, which provides a year round, youth development curriculum for over 500 area girls. To learn more about the services The Friendship Club has to offer, visit their website at friendshipclub.org.
