Fugitive Arrested in Georgia

A female escapee from the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility who has been on the lam for more than a year has been arrested in Georgia.
Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says Elizabeth Ann Monk had been serving a jail sentence in Nevada County for multiple charges, but has been a fugitive from the Nevada County Jail since December 2011.

monkInitially, Monk provided false ID to Georgia law enforcement, but further investigation led to the discovery of her identity.

Sheriff Royal says that an additional charge of Escape will add at least one year to Monk’s original sentence.
