Fugitive From Justice Taken into Custody

A wanted suspect, who was able to resist arrest two weeks ago by leading a deputy on a chase, is now in custody.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Smethers says Deputies served  a search warrant at a residence in the 12-thouand block of Burma Road yesterday afternoon where they suspected Jason Beatrez might be staying.

After searching the residence one of the deputies heard something in

a tool shed behind the house.

Beatrez was taken into custody and charged with his outstanding warrants.  While deputies were at the house, another individual drove up.

Marra was  arrested for violation of probation and possession of   controlled substance  paraphernalia.  Lt. Smethers says 34 year-old Shilo Wells was also arrested for harboring a fugitive, as she did not disclose where Beatrez was hiding.  Wells was released on $10,000 bail.
