The funding picture is looking a little brighter for Career Technical Education programs in public schools in Nevada County. Bear River High School Agriculture Mechanics Instructor Tim Reed says that’s even when you factor in fewer students.
Reed says between Bear River and Nevada Union CTE programs they’ve been able to bring in $300,000 in grants through a 3-year Pathways Grant.
Reed says they were really struggling with funding in prior years but now the pendulum is swinging back. He says the future is bright for Career Technical Education here in the next few years.
