While the Nevada Joint Union High School District is pausing hybrid learning, it’s unclear, at this time, if other Nevada County schools are continuing classroom learning, as coronavirus cases surge. In a statement from the Superintendent of Schools office, it says schools may remain open for in-person activities, unless any school is experiencing numerous cases in multiple cohorts, or if five-percent of staff and students are COVID positive. It says another consideration is if schools are able to operate in-person programs and services, due to other issues, such as substitute teacher shortages.
