GALA Honoring Dr. Sarah Woerner

Western Sierra Medical Center invites the public to join them in celebrating the life-changing career of Dr. Sarah Woerner, a Pediatrician who is committed to the region, especially its youngest residents. Dr. Woerner is on staff at Western Sierra Medical Center and is the first honoree in the Celebrating Leadership in Health Care Gala. Dr. Glenn Thiel is Chief Medical Director at Western Sierra Medical Center.

Dr Woerner is Board President of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, a board member of the Kellerman Foundation, past president of Kare Crisis Nursery and serves as Kare’s volunteer/outreach coordinator. Dr. Woerner says it was her warm family upbringing as a toddler in Nevada City that has lead to her passion to improve the lives of all children.

Dr. Woerner says there is more being written now about what is called toxic stress, where if children are exposed to bad things especially in those early years that it has far reaching consequences.

Dr. Thiel says Western Sierra Medical Center will honor Dr. Woerner at a Celebrating Leadership in Health Care Gala Saturday November 15th at the Miner’s Foundry in Nevada City.

Tickets and sponsorships are still available and proceeds from the event will be used in part to establish a full scope pediatric dental practice at Western Sierra Medical Center. and to purchase a panoramic dental X-ray unit at the center.
